Court upholds arrest of lawyer Natalia Fedorenko

The Novorossiysk Court of Appeal has dismissed the defence's complaint against the arrest of Natalia Fedorenko, a lawyer, accused of violating one's privacy. The defence intends to file a complaint.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 1, Natalia Fedorenko arrived at the court in Novorossiysk, for the trial, where she is accused within a case on the inviolability of one's private life. There she was placed under arrest; her advocate has emphasized that the article under which Fedorenko is accused does not provide for such a preventive measure. The criminal prosecution of the lawyer began when she came to the defence of Vadim Kharchenko*, a blogger from Gelendjik.

Fedorenko's client, Vadim Kharchenko*, has been recognized as a political prisoner. On September 26, the court ruled to close the trial after media began writing about the sessions.
