Mother of Sochi resident demands to stop criminal prosecution of her daughter

In Sochi, a court has tightened the pre-trial restriction measure for defrauded real estate investor Alla Soboleva and placed her in custody, ordering that her daughter be sent to an orphanage, a mother of the defendant said. The woman claimed that the case on extortion of money from the developer was fabricated and called on the law enforcement bodies to intervene.

Alla Soboleva, a resident of Sochi, is accused of extorting money from Shamil Nunaev, the developer of the “Kurortny” residential complex, According to the investigators’ version, the extortion consisted of the real estate investor seeking to have her rights respected and writing on the Internet that she had bought illiquid housing in the mentioned residential complex. On October 24, 2023, Alla Soboleva complained of threats and pressure from an investigator.

Svetlana Soboleva, a mother of the defendant, reported that the judge ordered that her granddaughter be sent to an orphanage. The grandmother does not know where the girl is now, because she lives in Ukraine.

According to the Alla Soboleva’s version, she was required to stop writing complaints and posting videos about the problems of the “Kurortny” residential complex.

In 2023, Alla Soboleva reported that residents of the “Kurortny” residential complex had been unable to get the developer to eliminate construction defects for years.
