Man accused of killing Dagestani Sultanov, 19, asks to be sent to SMO zone
The murder case of Magomed-Ali Sultanov, the 19-year-old resident of Kayakent, has been suspended, since the only accused person signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) and asked to be sent to the special military operation (SMO) zone in Ukraine.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Sultanov's family demanded that all forensic documents be made public.
The man accused of murdering Sultanov has signed a contract with the MoD to go to the SMO zone in Ukraine, said Ilyas Saidov, an advocate. He has suggested that the case could be reopened after the defendant's return. "But if he is awarded, then he will generally receive a pardon in six months," the advocate has added, emphasizing that this would lose a chance to bring to trial the accomplices of the murder, who are currently involved in the case as witnesses.
Ilyamin Sultanov, Magomed-Ali's father, was outraged by what was happening. According to his story, three people were involved in the murder. "There were five people there (three of them killed my son; and two others were beating up his friend who wanted to help him) – but only one was tried, and even he was 'washed up'," the father has emphasized.
Let us remind you that there is only one defendant in the Sultanov murder case. According to investigators, he stabbed Sultanov multiple times; and he died from his wounds. But the video released by the police shows that four people were involved in the brawl.
