Defence asks to overturn sentence of lawyer Fedorenko
The actions of Natalia Fedorenko, a lawyer, contained no violation of privacy of private life, her defence has stated. The Commission for the Protection of Lawyers' Professional Rights of the Bar Association of Krasnodar Territory has concluded that Fedorenko is being prosecuted for performing her professional duties.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a court in Novorossiysk had found Natalia Fedorenko, the advocate for Vadim Kharchenko*, a blogger, guilty of violating the privacy of private life and banned her from practicing advocacy for two years, and sentenced her to compulsory work.
Fedorenko was placed in custody, although the article indicted tom her does not provide for such a freedom restriction measure, her advocate has noted.
While participating in the case of an illegally built veterinary clinic, Fedorenko pointed out a conflict of interest: the judge who considers the case treats his dog in this clinic. However, a criminal case was opened against Fedorenko for violating the privacy of private life.
Natalia's colleagues have emphasized that she acted within the law and was only fulfilling her duties. The above Commission of the Bar Association of the Krasnodar Territory has concluded that her professional rights had been violated.
