Nukhazhiev has called on the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Chechnya and Dagestan to stop extortions on the border

Nurdi Nukhazhiev, Ombudsman in Chechnya, held a meeting with the heads of power agencies of Dagestan and Chechnya and discussed with them the facts of extortion on the roads.

The pretext for the meeting was in the facts about the extortions accomplished by members of law enforcement bodies of Dagestan in relation to Chechen residents who arrive to the neighbouring Republic.

The participants of the meeting were: Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Dagestan Magomed Ismailov, Head of the Department of State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Republic of Dagestan Valery Gromov, Head of the Department of Internal Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Dagestan, and the Minister of Internal Affairs of Chechnya Ruslan Alkhanov.

At the meeting with Mr Nukhazhiev, the high-ranking officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan have stated that they had already liquidated 8 posts of the GIBDD (State Traffic Safety Inspectorate). Several platoon and post commanders involved in extortions have been dismissed.
