Rostov-on-Don: State Prosecutor insists on longer terms for Khudyakov and Arakcheev

On Thursday, at the trial held at the North-Caucasian District Military Court, the state prosecution demanded 20 and 18 years of imprisonment for the two officers of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) accused of murdering peaceful Chechens.

The "Interfax" reports that the state prosecution asked to appoint the final punishment to defendant Evgeniy Khudyakov in the form of 20 years of imprisonment and to defendant Sergey Arakcheev - 18 years of imprisonment with serving the term at the strict custody colony and deprivation of the military award.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported earlier that the officers of the MIA's Internal Troops Evgeniy Khudyakov and Sergey Arakcheev were accused of kidnapping and illegal detention of a person and murdering three residents of Chechnya - employees of a civil engineering company that was erecting a military object of the Federal Forces in the territory of the Chechen Republic.

The North-Caucasian District Military Court is considering the Khudyakov's and Arakcheev's case for the third time already. The militaries had been twice acquitted by the jury. The Military Panel of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation had twice cancelled the jurors' verdict and returned the case back to the Court for new consideration. Currently, the Khudyakov's and Arakcheev's case is considered by a sole professional judge.
