Over three thousand land plots can be confiscated for objects of Sochi Olympiad
More than three thousand land plots can be alienated in the Krasnodar Territory for building the objects of the future Olympiad-2014 in Sochi.
This information was promulgated by the IA "Northern Caucasus" with reference to public opinion research institutes.
According to Alexander Remezkov, First Vice-Governor of the Krasnodar Territory, starting from January 1, 2008, the Administration of the Territory will be endowed, under the Olympic Law, with powers to reserve, confiscate and grant land estates for state needs. The Territorial Administration declares that every case will be considered individually, the "Vesti Sochi" (Sochi News) reports.
We remind you that on November 23, in Moscow, near the Federation Council (FC), the "Yabloko" Party held a picket against extrajudicial confiscation of land from residents of the Krasnodar Territory, which, in the opinion of the Party, became possible after the FC had approved the so-called "Olympic Law" on 2014 Sochi Winder Games.
"It is a mere raider's law, which will enable, under the pretext of the Olympiad, to confiscate land in any point of the Krasnodar Territory, not only in Sochi," Mr Mitrokhin said.
