Krasnodar: trial of former commandoes accused of beating Turks postponed

The hearing of the case about beating Turks by former Russian troopers is postponed for a week, since Judge Sergey Bykov from the Leninskiy District Court of Krasnodar has satisfied the petition lodged by defendant Arthur Ruzavin.

The petition was moved since one of Ruzavin's advocates could not appear at the court session. One of Ruzavin's ladies-relatives was fined by the Judge to one thousand roubles for disturbing the quiet course of the process. In her turn, she has explained to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the Judge had earlier also spoken in elevated voice.

We remind you that five former soldiers of landing troops are accused of getting, on August 2 last year, on the Landing Troops Day, into the territory of the construction site belonging to the "Dzhenk" Limited Liability Company (LLC) and beat citizens of Turkey. Four beaten builders with minor traumas are the figurants in the case.

The charge was presented under part 2, Article 213, of the RF Criminal Code: "Hooliganism accomplished by a group of persons by previous concert". The crime assumes up to seven years of imprisonment. However, the former commandoes disagree with the indictment. They assert that Turkish builders were the first to encroach on their honour and started a fight.

The "Caucasian Knot" has already informed that a lady-relative of one of the defendants told, while preferring to remain anonymous, that representatives of the Prosecutor's Office has urgently recommended her not to communicate with journalists.
