Media: militia is ordered to shoot at protesters, Alekseeva says

According to some sources, Liudmila Alekseeva, Chair of the Moscow Helsinki Group, has reported about Restricted Order No. 800, under which the militia now has the right to shoot to kill citizens holding a rally.

The "Caucasian Knot" used to report that earlier in the Caucasus forced dispersals of assemblies happened more than once. Indicative were the events on January 26 in Nazran (Ingushetia), where clashes of militiamen with citizens, who protested against corruption in the republic, kidnappings and murders accomplished by power agents, took place.

By the way, Magomed Khazbiev, an Ingush public figure, has reported that a picket is planned for March 2-3 with a resignation demand of Yuri Turygin, Public Prosecutor of Ingushetia. The application on the action is ready.

Now, according to the Restricted Order, militiamen will have the right to shoot to kill at protesters holding their actions; this is reported by the oppositional website "Ingushetia.Org", which has placed by means of the "Youtube.com" service the video record of Ms Alekseeva's interview.

According to the source of the information portal in the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of the Russian Federation, such measures are undertaken in expectation of mass protests of the population against the current economic situation in the country as a result of the global crisis. The source has added that a private instruction was spread over the MIA to recruit as many people as possible with the aim to increase the overall personnel.

Currently, it is not possible to watch the video, as the service reports that "the video was removed by the user."
