Moscow court satisfies two claims of Dubrovka victims

The Zamoskvoretskiy Court of Moscow has ruled to pay out some 130,000 roubles under two claims lodged by the victims of the terror act in Dubrovka against plundering hostages' belongings. However, the defence was dissatisfied with the ruling and plans to appeal against it.

According to Igor Trunov, a victims' advocate, the court has only partially satisfied the victims' claims on material damage satisfaction.

Thus, in favour of the family of Maksim Mikhailov, perished director of the "Baltic Wave" radio station, 9845 roubles will be collected for the property that was on him and 10,000 roubles as compensation of legal costs. The court has also ruled to pay 100 roubles of fine in favour of the state. The court also ruled to collect 82,720 roubles in favour of victim Ekaterina Dolgaya, the money that she had on her during the terror act, and the legal costs of 25,000 roubles.

"The court rejected compensation of moral damage and the interest that could accrue on using other people's money," said the advocate. According to Mr Trunov, this is what the defence wants to appeal against.
