Relatives of those perished in Nalchik: they burnt torture traces in crematorium

The relatives of the militants who fell victim during the 2005 autumn attack on the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria are convinced that cremation of the militants' bodies that became known on June 6 was nothing else but an attempt of the authorities to destroy the traces of tortures applied to them and lawless executions, writes the Polish Gazeta Wyborcza.

"When collisions were over and the militants completely defeated, we learnt from official messages that the perished militants were 37 in number. And later, in the course of time, the number started to grow - up to 95 victims," the Polish edition quotes calculations of human rights activist Lev Ponomaryov, Chairman of the organization "For Human Rights."

Thus, militiamen came home to Boris Dzagalov on October 14, 2005, already after the fight was over in Nalchik. Boris' father - Betan - saw his son next time on the following afternoon - in the city's morgue. Boris' face was disfigured by a monstrous blow. However, father heard that his son was killed on October 13 as an armed terrorist during attack on the militia post, the journalist of the Gazeta Wyborcza wrote about the events in Nalchik, adding that "such cases were in plenty in Kabardino-Balkaria in those days."
