CE's Secretary General demands to find those in charge of people's deaths on March 1 in Armenia

Terry Davis, Secretary General of the Council of Europe (CE), finds it especially important to investigate into the murders committed on March 1 in Yerevan. Mr Davis made this statement today at a press conference in Strasbourg, while answering the question about his estimates of fulfilment by the authorities of Armenia of PACE's Resolution No. 1609.

"I'm concerned that it's given little attention to. I keep asking my Armenian colleagues: what about the police investigation? Some of them say that a special commission is going to investigate the March 1 events. But it does not exempt the police from the investigation. Those responsible for these murders shall be detected," Terry Davis has declared.

Mr Davis has also noted that he was also concerned with manifestations of vandalism also observed on March 1, but the main thing is to find out who was shooting at people.
