Armenian opposition wants to deliver Robert Kocharyan's case to Hague Tribunal

Starting today, the oppositional Nationwide Movement will bag subscriptions for sending the case of Robert Kocharyan, the second president of Armenia, to the International Criminal Court in The Hague. David Shakhnazaryan, representative of the Centre of the Nationwide Movement, told about it at his meeting with journalists.

According to Mr Shakhnazaryan, Kocharyan had committed heaviest crimes against the statehood of Armenia and against the Armenian nation. The oppositionist asserts that Robert Kocharyan two times became the president of the country under falsified documents, thus having usurped the power, which is a grave crime.

David Shakhnazaryan has reminded that during Kocharyan's rule the terror act in the country's parliament was committed on October 27, 1999, as a result of which Armenia, according to the oppositionist, got transformed into "a bandocratic state". "He (Kocharyan) has finalized his rule with a bloodshed and massacre, which was organized on March 1, which is a crime against humanity by all its attributes," Mr Shakhnazaryan has declared.

The oppositional leader has also stated that the subscriptions for transferring the second president's case to the Tribunal will be bagged not only in Armenia, but also abroad.
