Russia to allot 10 billion roubles for restoring houses in South Ossetia

Tonight, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin has arrived to Vladikavkaz and met leaders of North Ossetia to discuss the matters of rendering assistance to South Ossetia in the context of the events in the Georgian-Ossetian conflict zone. Mr Putin has ordered to allot 10 billion roubles for restoration of dwelling houses in South Ossetia.

The participants in the meeting also were Taimuraz Mamsurov, leader of North Ossetia, Russian Vice-Premier Alexander Zhukov and Sergey Shoigu, Russian Minister for Emergencies.

In the course of the meeting with the leaders of the republic and heads of corresponding federal agencies, Vladimir Putin has stated that "the actions of Georgian authorities in South Ossetia are certainly a crime, and, first of all, this is a crime against their own nation."

"A mortal blow has been inflicted on territorial integrity of Georgia itself, and thus - a huge damage to its statehood: it's difficult to imagine any possibility, after all that happened and is underway, of convincing South Ossetia to be a part of Georgian state," Vladimir Putin has emphasized.

Russian Prime Minister has called on the Georgian authorities to immediately stop their aggression against South Ossetia and violations of all former agreements on peace and ceasefire, and to respect legitimate rights and interests of other nations.
