Mayor of Tskhinvali: 80 percent of houses are damaged in the capital of South Ossetia

As a result of the war, an essential part of households in Tskhinvali have suffered. According to the data presented by Mayor of Tskhinvali Robert Guliev, we can state that 80 percent of the city's housing fund was damaged.

"The city services possess information about destroyed households and about the measures to be taken to restore them," said Robert Guliev. "Many damaged houses are situated in the southern suburb of Tskhinvali, there are burned down private houses and apartments."

In the process of inspecting the capital of South Ossetia, it became clear that 593 private households were destroyed, and as a result of bombardment 1380 apartments in Tskhinvali became unfit for residence. Thus, 6223 persons have become homeless.
