States to continue dialogue with Azerbaijani authorities on broadcasting of western radio stations

The USA are seriously concerned of the plans to stop since 2009 the broadcasting of foreign radio stations in Azerbaijan, and are going to continue the dialogue on the topic with the authorities of the country.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that this intention was stated by Ann Dears, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan, in her conversation with journalists today, on November 5.

As she said, "the USA want to cooperate with Azerbaijan in realization of political reforms." It implies development of strong democratic institutions, including professional and objective mass media. The dialogue with the government of Azerbaijan about continuation of broadcasting of foreign radio stations in local frequencies will be continued, as Ms Dears has emphasized.
