In Astrakhan Region, militia captain kidnapped and enslaved a human

Inspectors of the Astrakhan Region have opened a criminal case against a militia officer from Kalmykia suspected of kidnapping a human, later sold by him into slavery.

We remind you that this February the "Caucasian Knot" reported that in the city of Vladikavkaz, the capital of North Ossetia, a local resident was detained, who exploited for almost six months six regular soldiers sent to him by their commander.

The investigatory bodies of the Russian ICPO for the Astrakhan Region have established that on March 9, 2009, a senior district militia officer from the Yustinskiy District of the Republic of Kalmykia arrived to one of local marketplaces.

The militiaman demanded documents from the victim and asked him to get into his car. Then, the captain took the man out of the city saying that latter would be employed at a stockkeeper's workplace.

The "Interfax" quotes the website of the Investigatory Committee at the Prosecutor's Office (ICPO) of the Russian Federation, which runs that under threat of firearm, the militiaman suppressed all the victim's attempts to resist.

According to the investigation, in Enotaevka village, Astrakhan Region, the militiaman handed the victim over to some men who arrived in a car in exchange of remuneration.

Then, the kidnapped person had worked, for two months, under a threat of murder in case of runaway, worked at a stockkeeper's farm. About mid-May he managed to pass a note about his whereabouts to his wife with a driver of an occasional truck that passed on the road.

After an operation conducted by law enforcers, the victim was released. The investigation of the criminal case continues. The suspected militia captain was arrested, as reported by the "Gazeta.Ru".
