Opposition holds rally and march in Yerevan

On May 29 in Yerevan, supporters of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) held their rally as a summing-up event of the election campaign of this oppositional movement headed by the first President of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan.

The "PanARMENIAN.Net" Agency reports that leaders of the movement Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Stepan Demirchyan, Aram Sarkisyan, David Shakhnazaryan, Ararat Zurabyan and Levon Zurabyan, and ex-prime-minister of Armenia Grant Bagratyan took part in the rally.

This time the opposition managed to bring together about 7000 supporters. For the first time the rally was broadcast live by one of oppositional Internet media, as reported by "Gazeta.Ru".

The rally ended with already traditional march along central streets of Yerevan. The next action will take place on June 1 on the outcomes of the elections of the Board of Elders of Yerevan, which will be held on May 31.
