Four students earlier detained in Egypt deported to Moscow
Today, four out of the group of Russian students detained in Egypt were brought to Moscow, as reported by advocate Murad Musaev. According to his story, three have already passed the customs control, in the near time the fourth one is expected. Maskhud Abdullaev, son of the leader of one of Chechen armed groupings, was late for the flight and will leave for Moscow tomorrow, on June 19.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that earlier the Amnesty International had made the statement, according to which Maskhud Abdullaev, son of Supyan Abdullaev, leader of the Chechen armed underground and closest ally of Doku Umarov, leader of all Northern Caucasus militants, and five more students were under a threat of torture and inhuman treatment when back in Russia.
The official version of the illegal presence in Egypt is absurd, as asserted by sources of the "Gazeta.Ru". "For example, the woman arriving to Moscow today had all the correct documents. Another student was in the process of replacing his foreign passport. Most of the young men, including Abdullaev, were under re-registration, a standard procedure. Certainly, the Egyptian authorities had no right to deport them; however, the latter had asserted that they could expel from the country and arrest anybody," note the students.
"Muftis of North Caucasus may cancel trip to Egypt," "The Russian students detained by police in Egypt were questioned on the subject of extremism," "Egypt: detained Caucasians complain of bad conditions in SIZO."
