In Dubai, advocates of figurants in Sulim Yamadaev's attempt case to demand release of their clients

In Dubai (United Arab Emirates), the judge in charge of the case on the attempt on Hero of Russia Sulim Yamadaev, ex-commander of the "Vostok" special battalion, was dissatisfied with the proofs gathered by the prosecution party and found them insufficient. On these grounds, the defence advocates plan to move, at the court session on November 16, their petitions asking to release the defendants.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the defendants in the case are Makhdi Lorniya, a citizen of Iran and Ramzan Kadyrov's personal horseman, and Maksudzhon Ismatov, a citizen of Tajikistan; both are kept in custody in Dubai since March this year.

In the cost of the recent session the judge was dissatisfied with the fact that the four witnesses announced by the prosecution party proved to be the policemen, in this way or another involved in investigating Yamadaev's murder. He communicated to the charge that he could not regard these witnesses to be impartial; therefore, he let to speak to only one of them.

According to the policeman, having arrived by a call to the place of supposed Yamadaev's murder, he interrogated possible eyewitnesses; however, however, none of them could describe the gunmen. Nevertheless, policemen, while repeating the retreat of the criminals, as indicated by witnesses, found gloves, a belt bag with a pistol and a sports jacket; they concluded that Chechen natives Zelimkhan Mazaev and Ramazan Musaev could be involved in the crime.

While searching the apartment, where the suspects stopped, policemen established that the apartment was leased by three brothers-Chechens - Salman, Marvan and Turpal Kimaev, and Maksudzhon Ismatov often visited them. On the kitchen table policemen found the main evidence - a handwritten layout of the underground park, where Yamadaev was killed. Ismatov's fingerprints were detected in it.

After that, Ismatov was arrested, and in his laptop policemen found several Sulim Yamadaev's photos. Inspectors thought that the gathered proofs were enough to arrest the suspect. Then, another Kimaevs' friend was arrested - Makhdi Lorniya - horseman of the President of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, who took care of race horses in Dubai.

Then, the policemen interrogated the detainees and built the scheme of the crime, according to which Makhdi Lorniya received, during the meeting with the official delegation from Chechnya, from State Duma Deputy Adam Delimkhanov, a gilded pistol and order to kill Sulim Yamadaev. Then, he handed the firearm over to Kimaev brothers, and himself, together with Ismatov, started to shadow Yamadaev, and on the day of the murder guided the gunmen on him.

However, the judge found the scheme built by the police to be unpersuasive. He said that he would like to see other proofs in the courtroom, and also civil witnesses, ready to confirm the assumptions of the police. In case the prosecution fails with his requirements, the judge let know the defence that he would consider the petition to release the defendants under recognizance not to leave. The Russian lawyers working in Dubai note that it is evidence of the fact that the chairing judge already has a certain opinion on this criminal case.

However, Isa, Sulim Yamadaev's brother, believes that the defendants should not be released in any way, as they can flee outside the United Arab Emirates.
