Armenia cannot exclude A/H1N1 threat
So far, no swine flu has been revealed in Armenia. However, the threat of virus penetration into the country cannot be excluded, as Armenia is surrounded by the countries, where infection cases have been already fixed. This was stated by Ara Asoyan, chief infection physician of Armenia.
"From the medical point of view, the situation is somewhat strange: all the neighbouring countries have registered many swine flu cases, but Armenia has none of them. I can't say for how long this situation will last and whether Armenia will avoid penetration of this infection," Mr Asoyan said.
Today, the country takes the corresponding measures not to let penetration of A/H1N1. Armenia is among 100 countries, to whom the WHO will provide vaccines against swine flu; Armenia will receive them in the beginning of 2010.
