Former IC inspector for North Ossetia states corruption in the republic

Felix Tsokov, a former inspector of the Investigatory Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation for North Ossetia, has accuses the managers of the "Electrozink" of corruption. He did it in his video appeal, placed in the web site of Major Alexei Dymovskiy.

Some time ago, the former inspector was engaged in the criminal case opened against the "Electrozink" Factory because of emissions of hazardous substances into the atmosphere back in June-July 2000. Some six months later the case was decided by the court of Vladikavkaz positively for the respondents, among whom, according to the former inspector, there were high-ranking officials of the factory. Despite the established order, the case was not returned for investigation. Mr Tsokov sees a corruption component in it.

The former inspector gives statistical data on reduction of the population of North Ossetia and growth of morbidity. According to his version, the republic has over 2000 oncology patients, which, in his opinion, is directly connected with "Electrozink".

He is sure that the assertions of the factory bosses that emissions are just occasional and take place at adjustment of the equipment are nothing but "mean lies."

He states that 72 percent of all harmful emissions in Vladikavkaz originate from the "Electrozink"; therefore, the land pollution in the city with various heavy nonferrous metals is multiply exceeding the exposure limit. "In this situation, people just can't be healthy in Vladikavkaz," Felix Tsokov is convinced.

He emphasized in his video appeal, placed at the address: dymovskiy.name/appeals/staff/100/, that the figures of the environment pollution and morbidity growth, studied by him, were not secret. According to his version, both the administration and power agencies know about them. But since the bureaucrats give no reaction, they are corrupted, the former inspector, and nowadays a pensioner of law enforcement bodies asserts.

Felix Tsokov calls the population of Vladikavkaz not to stay indifferent, not to be afraid of the officials and bombard them with letters demanding to protect the environment from pollution. He is strongly convinced that the factory must be closed.

Let us note here that Tsokov's video appeal was already the tenth one, which appeared in the web site of the former Militia Major from Novorossisk Alexei Dymovskiy - dymovskiy.name. Other appeals, made mainly by former law enforcers, also deal with corruption and malversations.
