Cassation on bribe verdict in case of first explosion of "Neva-Express" train postponed

On January 26, the Novgorod Regional Court postponed consideration of the cassation, lodged by advocate Magomed Razakov and his client in the case on blowing up the "Neva-Express" train in 2007 Salambek Dzakhkiev, sentenced to two years of imprisonment for an attempt to bribe the inspector.

The "Caucasian Knot" reported earlier that on November 24 last year the Novgorod City Court sentenced Dzakhkiev, a resident of Ingushetia, earlier accused of blowing up the "Neva-Express" train, to two years and four months of minimum security colony, and his defender - lawyer from Moscow Magomed Razakov - to two years and two months of same colony for an attempt to bribe inspector Nikolai Uschapovskiy. Consideration of the complaint was to take place on January 26.

"The case was returned to the first instance court for elimination of some remedial formalities, which hamper to consider the cassation," the court spokesman told the "Interfax".

The session on January 26 took place, but the Regional Court sent the case back to the Novgorod City Court without consideration on the merits, the "Vremya Novostei" (Time of News) newspaper writes today. The city court should clarify some technical points concerning the motivation part of Razakov's cassation. Then, the cassation will be considered again.

In the course of the session Razakov put forward a petition to add the cassation complaint to the case files. However, since the lawyer's complaint was submitted after the cassation deadline, and the reason of the delay is unknown, the petition was rejected, as the "BaltInfo" quotes its source in the court.
