A resident of Chechnya abducted and beaten by men in special forces uniform
"On 28 May, a student of one of the Chechen institutions of higher education was seized in the center of Grozny by the republican law enforcement officers", an NGO representative in Chechnya told the correspondent of the "Caucasian Knot".
According to him, a young man spent 24 hours in custody being exposed to torture: abductors were trying to make him confess guilt for uncommitted crimes.
"On the morning of 28 May, an 18 year-old resident of the village of Pervomayskaya district in Grozny Dudaev, first-year student of the national high school, left for school and disappeared. During 24 hours his family was trying to locate him. They addressed to various agencies and looked for the young man in the morgue and hospitals. A day later, local residents found him brutally beaten in Grozny municipal hospital No.3 in the Staropromyslovsky district and told his family. His collarbone is knocked-out. For 24 hours he was kept in some basement with a bag on his head, being constantly beaten and forced to admit guilt for imperfect crimes", a human right activist said.
"Dudaev does not know to what agencies the abductors belonged. They were dressed in the black uniform usually worn by the Akhmad Kadyrov inferior ministry special forces, the President's securities and special purpose militia unit", an activist told.
"Having failed to force the young man confessing, the law enforcement officers took him to the Staropromyslovsky district of Grozny and dumped near the hospital No.3. Now he is at home", an interlocutor informed.
NGO worker says it is difficult to prognosticate how things will go. In his opinion, virtually, there are no chances at all that the law enforcing officers who are guilty of the young man abduction and beating will be found and punished.
Officials of the republican law enforcement bodies could not be reached for comments on the given incident.
