Kidnapped Gudermes resident returns home in Chechnya

Local residents report that, on February 2, Makka Elingaraeva, resident of Gudermes district centre (Chechnya) who was considered missing, returned home, runs the information of the Council of Non-government Organizations submitted to the "Caucasian Knot."

On January 29, 2005, Makka went out of her house and from that day her relatives were unable to find out where she was. According to some information, Elingaraeva was detained by officers of a power authority in Chechnya; however, her relatives refuse to comment on such information. Nothing is known about her state of health, either.

Meanwhile on the previous day, February 10, officers of Chechen power authorities detained a young man (name not known yet) in the course of secret operations in the Achkhoi-Martan district centre. This was reported by a local resident. According to some information, the detained person is suspected of participation in illegal armed units.
