Trial of Georgian women accused of drug trafficking continues in Malaysia

Today, the court of Malaysia has started its first hearing of the case of Daredzhan Kokhtashvili, a citizen of Georgia, accused of drug trafficking. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia waits for the details of the first hearing, which, according to Malaysian laws, is held without an advocate.

The fact that two young women from Georgia were arrested in Malaysia on suspicion of drug transportation and dealing became known on October 27. On November 4, inspectors charged one of them - Babutsa Gordadze - under the article of "drug trafficking". The second hearing of her case will take place on December 5.

The IA "Trend" reports that so far no telephone conversation took place between the Foreign Ministers of Georgia and Malaysia; however, the Amnesty International is already involved in the process.
