Dagestani woman in hijab detained in Moscow

In Moscow, at the Schukinskaya metro station, Larissa Abdulaeva, a resident of Dagestan, was detained. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told at the police department of the Schukinskaya station that passengers of the metro train called the police and said that they saw a suspicious woman in their train.

At a stop policemen came up to the car and detained Abdulaeva. She asserts that she committed no offences and did not behave suspiciously. The only reason, in her opinion, of increased passengers' attention to her was her Muslim clothes and the hijab that she was wearing.

As reported by Andrei Skorospelov, a policeman from Shchukinskaya, Abdulaeva is now kept in their office at the metro station; and the police are checking the circumstances. In particular, the swabs were taken from her hand to identify any possible contact with explosives.

Larissa herself expressed her fears in a phone conversation with the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that her civil rights may be violated.
