On August 3 Moscow City Court to start jury selection in Sviridov's murder case

Tomorrow, on August 3, the Moscow City Court will select a jury for consideration of the case on the murder of Yegor Sviridov, a fan of the "Spartak" Football Club, in last December. The jury selection will take place behind closed doors, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by the press service of the Moscow City Court.

"None of strangers, none of representatives of the print media, and none of TV journalists will be allowed to enter the courtroom during the selection procedure of candidates for the jury for consideration on the criminal case of Yegor Sviridov's murder," a representative of the press service of the Moscow City Court stated.

Earlier, the lawyers of the defendants petitioned about the consideration of the case by the jury. This lawyers' petition had been granted.

This criminal case has already passed the preliminary court hearing, during which the public prosecutor's request to extend the detention period to all eight defendants was granted. They will remain in custody in the pre-trial prison until this December 22. Aslan Cherkesov, Akai Akaev, Arthur Arsibiev, Hassan Ibragimov, Nariman Ismailov, and Ramazan Adarbiev are the defendants on the dock.
