Father of a kidnapped resident of Chechnya submitted a complaint to the European Court

Doka Suleimanov who states that his son Timur was kidnapped by unknown people after he confessed to preparing an act of terror submitted a complaint to the European Court of Human Rights. 

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that on May, 7, Timur Suleimanov, operator of a service station in Grozny, was detained by personnel of law enforcement bodies. His father declared that he was forced to confess to having been preparing an act of terror. After detention he was released, however, on May, 9, eight men in "Lada Prira" cars came to his service station. According to eyewitnesses, they forced Timur into one of their cars and drove away.

Timur Suleimanov's father states that the abduction took place in front of the very eyes of the personnel of Department of Interior Affairs located in 20 meters distance from the service station. However, none of the militiamen interfered.  

On May, 10, Doka Suliemanov submitted a statement of his son's abduction to Public prosecutor's office, "Memorial" Human Rights Center and Chechen office of the interregional non-governmental organization "Committee against Torture". Criminal proceeding was started on the fact of Timur Suleimanov's kidnapping. 

"A complaint has been submitted to the European Court. Now the state will have to answer a number of questions of Timur Suleimanov's current location and fate" - web-site of the non-governmental organization "Committee against Torture" reports.

In addition, representatives of "Committee against Torture" are carrying out an independent investigation on Suleimanov's statement.
