"Chechengrazhdanstroy" workers complain of systematic non-payment of wages

In Chechnya, employees of the organization named "Chechengrazhdanstroy" complain that their bosses are not in a hurry to pay salaries. According to one of them, the debt of the company to him personally is over one million roubles. The chief accountant asserts that for two years already the organization runs no activity in Chechnya; therefore, the staff was sent on vacations without pay.

"I've worked for the State Unitary Enterprise (SUE) 'Chechengrazhdanstroy" for more than 2.5 years; and I never received my salary - now the debt is about one million roubles. As I understand, nobody is going to pay it. There are dozens like me in the," a worker, who preferred to remain anonymous, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to his story, every month the organization's managers promised to pay salaries and repay the debts, but failed to do so. "If I leave the organization, there is a danger of losing the entire salary debts. Until now, they regularly promised to pay in the near future to repay, but now they don't even promise. Bosses say that they have no money," said the source.

At the same time, along with the promises to pay and explanations that the organization has no money, its director, according to the worker, managed to build a store, a restaurant, two large houses and a technical station for himself.

The source has added that recently the situation with the "Chechengrazhdanstroy" has worsened: "They don't even promise to pay the debts, saying that all the 2.5 years we worked at a sort of subbotnik, that is, free of charge."

According to his story, the director general of the "Chechengrazhdanstroy" has "serious links in various agencies and departments." "Russia has passed a law that the managers, who fail to pay salaries and wages to their workers for two months, should be held accountable. But here, this law, like many others, is not working," said the source.

Let us note here that in 2005, one of the bosses of the SUE "Chechengrazhdanstroy" was prosecuted for a theft by fraud of more than 200,000 roubles allocated from the budget for restoration of two houses in Montazhnaya Street in Grozny.

In 2003, Director General of the SUE "Chechengrazhdanstroy" Djama Tashukhadjiev, who is still managing the organization, was awarded a diploma in nomination "Construction" at the Russian contest "Manager-2003". In 2004, by decree of President of Chechnya, Tashukhadjiev was granted the honorary title "Merited Builder of the Chechen Republic".

According to official statistics, the wage debts in Chechnya are regularly decreasing. While at the beginning of 2009 the amount of debts was 683 million roubles, in August 2011 it was officially announced that, according to the "Rosstat" (Federal State Statistics Agency), the country joined the list of 11 Russian regions, which had no salary debts, the IA "Chechen Republic Today" reports.
