South-Ossetian OMON stops people who broke into the government

The riot police (OMON) fighters have squeezed the crowd of supporters of one of the presidential candidates Djambolat Tedeev out and away from the building, where the government sits. This was stated by Vyacheslav Sedov, the head of the press service of the president and government of South Ossetia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that today at the entrance to the premises of the CEC, where a sitting was held to decide on registration of Djambolat Tedeev, the head coach of the Russian national team in freestyle wrestling, as a candidate for president of South Ossetia, unidentified persons tried to get inside. The refusal to let them in was answered by shooting into the air.

"The South Ossetian President Eduard Kokoity was immediately notified about the incident. He ordered his power agencies and prosecutor' office to take speedy steps towards localization of the incident and bringing those responsible to justice," said Sedov.

"A crowd of about 150 persons tried to break into the government building, where the CEC is located, demanding to immediately register Tedeev as a presidential candidate. They smashed the doors and broke windows in the building," the "RIA Novosti" quotes one of eyewitnesses.

The "Res" adds that through the actions of securities and OMON agents the protesters were ousted into the street.
