It was decided to stamp the passports of the citizens who have voted at the election in South Ossetia

A special stamp will be put on the inner side of the back part of the cover in the passport of each citizen of South Ossetia who has taken part in the presidential election on November, 13. Members of Central Election Committee consider that this will disallow anyone to vote twice.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that presidential election would be held in South Ossetia on November, 13. There were 17 candidates in the shortlist of Central Election Committee. On November, 2, the first debate passed off among the presidential candidates. The question of national ideology was under discussion then. During pre-election debate on November, 8, the presidential candidates of South Ossetia discussed the questions of forming the budget and elimination of corruption.

Bella Plieva, Chairperson of Central Election Committee, informed that a round stamp 1,5 centimeters in diameter would be put in the passport of every person who has voted. "The stamps are already made and distributed to all the polling stations. It is mandatory for everyone who has voted to get this mark in one's passport, it will under no circumstances do any harm to the passport in the future. We do not touch the inner contents of the passport where no marks are permitted except the ones allowed by passport regulations", Plieva said.

According to Head of Central Election Committee, the question was endorsed by the President and the Government of the republic, IA "RES" reports.

There will be 86 polling stations all in all. 84 of them will be opened in the territory of South Ossetia, one in Moscow and one in Sukhumi, "Osinform" reports.

On November, 8, the news appeared that presidential candidate of South Ossetia Aivar Bestaev refused participation in the election in favour of Dmitry Tasoev. President of North Ossetia Teimuraz Mamsurov, representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Airborne Troops and a number of deputies of State Duma of the Russian Federation declared their support of Anatoly Bibilov's nomination. Jambolat Tedeev, Chief trainer of combined freestyle wrestling team of Russia who was denied registration as candidate, declared his support of Alla Jioeva.
