House of Bulat Chagaev, owner of FC "Xamax", searched

After the searches conducted at the Geneva-based offices of the companies belonging to the Chechen businessman Bulat Chagaev and in the office of the Football Club "Xamax", purchased by him in May this year, police inspectors also searched his house.

In Geneva, the prosecutor's office suspects Bulat Chagaev of fraud. In particular, he is suspected of falsifying the certificate of the Bank of America, which is used by the businessman for two months to prove that he has enough money to maintain the FC.

"Mr Chagaev will be questioned by the Geneva justice," says the communication of the Geneva cantonal prosecutor.

At the same time, the Swiss Football League has filed the third complaint against Chagaev's "Xamax", the RIA "Novosti" reports.

Roger Mueller, the spokesman of the Swiss Football League, said that the league did not receive confirmations that "Xamax" footballers had received their salaries for September and August, as well as contributions to social services for the same period. Due to financial problems the FC "Xamax" may be excluded from the Swiss championship before the winter break, the "Interfax" reports.

Bulat Chagaev himself refused to comment on the searches; however, earlier he had categorically rejected all the accusations and even threatened to abandon the club.
