Mikhail Saakashvili: success in Georgia means success for entire region
The President of Georgia, in his speech on 28 January [at the 26-30 January session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg], stated that the peaceful Rose Revolution in his country was a direct manifestation of the European values of liberal democracy.
"If anything, the non-violent Rose Revolution served as a message to the world - that all Georgians aspire to build and live in a democratic, independent and stable state," he said.
"Georgia and Europe share a common identity," President Saakashvili underlined, adding that "to strengthen that connection however, Europe needs to do more - to ensure the prosperity and stability of future generations."
