Four Dagestani residents convicted in case on riots at Makhachkala airport
Marat Rabadanov, Radjab Radjabov, Magomed Ramazanov, and Zaurbeg Khalikov were each sentenced to ten years of imprisonment. A court in Georgievsk found them participants of the riots at the “Uytash” airport in Makhachkala in October 2023.
The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that in October 2024, the Georgievsky City Court began to consider the case against four residents of Dagestan. Marat Rabadanov, Radjab Radjabov, Magomed Ramazanov, and Zaurbeg Khalikov have been accused of participating in mass riots at the airport in Makhachkala and failure to comply with transport security requirements.
Sentences in connection with the riots at the “Uytash” airport in Makhachkala have been pronounced in seven criminal cases, and 38 defendants were found guilty, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reported on its Telegram channel.
Let us remind you that relatives of the people accused and convicted in the case on riots at the airport in Makhachkala intended to ask for help from Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov. However, they were unable to get an appointment with him. The relatives wrote a letter to Dagestani leader Sergey Melikov and threatened to hold protest actions if they receive no response.
Analysts believe that Ramzan Kadyrov refused the meeting due to his unwillingness to conflict with Sergey Melikov and be known as the defender of the participants in the pogrom.
