Dagestan: teenager seriously wounded by policeman brought to Makhachkala for further treatment

Imadibir Makhiev, 16, who on April 16 was shot in his head by a policeman, was transferred from the Akhvakh Central District Hospital to Makhachkala, to the intensive care unit of the Republic's Clinical Hospital.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the tragedy occurred in the village of Karata, Akhvakh District, at night on April 16. As reported by a villager, Zaur Djalilov, a policeman from the local ROVD (District Interior Division) opened fire to kill from his service pistol at young men who staged a fight among themselves. A bullet struck the head of a 16-year-old boy, who was urgently hospitalized.

The hospitalization to Makhachkala was made by the sanitary aviation of Dagestan, said Abdulmalik Imagadjiev, an emergency physician from the Akhvakh District Hospital, who accompanied Imadibir Makhiev.

"The flight was normal, the patient's condition has not worsened; he is in coma. Immediately after landing, he was taken to the intensive care unit," said Imagadjiev.

The policeman Zaur Djalilov was detained; a criminal case was opened against him under the article of "inflicting grave harm to one's health by negligence as a result of improper execution by a person of his or her professional duties." So far, the position of Djalilov or his representatives is unknown.
