In Dagestan, policemen ask parishioners not to visit the mosque of Kaspiisk

In Kaspiisk, employees of the local GOVD (City Interior Division) have asked the believers not to visit the mosque, located in Aeroflotskaya Street, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was informed by a local resident Abakar Abakarov.

According to his story, on April 21, after the morning prayer, several cars with policemen arrived at the mosque.

"One of them, without explaining the reasons, invited us to the GOVD. There, we were asked not to visit the mosque, as some time ago a young man was visiting it; and according to the police, he is now a member of the armed underground. They showed us his photo. But this man was only two or three times in the mosque; and we don't understand, why because of it they should close our mosque," said Abakarov.

He said that their attempts to clarify the situation were unsuccessful.

"The policeman, who spoke to us, said that he performed instructions of his boss. We asked to meet the boss, and he promised to organize it. However, in the end nothing happened; apparently, the head of the GOVD wouldn't like to meet us," said the source.

The on duty unit of the Dagestani MIA said that they had no information about the situation, while the GOVD of Kaspiisk refused from comments.
