Nagorno-Karabakh youngsters clean Shusha of garbage

In Nagorno-Karabakh, about 60 young men held a subbotnik to clean the Dzhdrduz Meadow and the territory around the Church Gazanchetsots in the city of Shusha. The action was dated to the Workers' International Solidarity Day and May 9.

The action, which took place on May 1, was attended by young people from Stepanakert and Shusha.

Vrezh Stepanyan,Director of Music Club "Stendhal", said that "we should take care about our sights, and by participating in such actions, you feel, like a citizen of Karabakh, quite satisfied."

"When we learned about the action, we decided to contribute. Apart from taking part in cleaning the Dzhdrduz Meadow, our members have also provided lunch. Our club has organized a sort of a small picnic," said the director.

Susanna Petrosyan, the head of public organization "Alpha Omega", has noted that the Dzhdrduz Meadow is in terrible condition.

"How can people pollute such an amazing beauty? So much rubbish, so many broken bottles – it's a great pity that people hold their picnics in this meadow and fail to clean up the place after," said Susanna.

Knarik Gazaryan, a student, believes that it is irresponsible to treat the native land in this way. "Maybe, our action will be a sort of example. People, who come here to relax, will see that the place is clean and won't throw garbage and clean up after their events here," said the student.
