In Dagestan, armed men kidnap a local

Unidentified armed men have kidnapped Djavar Khanmagomedov, 31, a resident of the city of Derbent. Relatives do not exclude that is could be made by power agents.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Zarema Balabekova, Djavar Khanmagomedov's wife, that in the morning her husband left home and "no telephone communication was with him since." "Eyewitnesses said that he was kidnapped by unidentified armed men. Later, rumours appeared that my husband was kept at the GOVD (City Interior Division), but when we went there, we were told that Djafar was not there," said the woman.

Abuddin Khanmagomedov, the detainee's brother, said that Djavar was registered by the police as a follower of Salafism; in 2008-2011, he was in prison under Articles 208 and 222 of the Russian Criminal Code (illegal possession of arms and aiding militants); Djavar was jobless.

In their turn, the on duty unit of the GOVD told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that they knew nothing about the disappearance of Djavar Khanmagomedov.
