The court in Astrakhan on Sein’s lawsuit started interrogating the witnesses

Interrogation of the witnesses on the lawsuit of ex-candidate for Mayor’s Office of Astrakhan Oleg Shein started in court. At the trial of May, 3, the witnesses invited by the plaintiff stated violations in the polling stations during the election of Mayor.

On April, 20, Kirov district court of Astrakhan held the first interviews with the parties. During the interviews the court decided to summon all the four territorial election committees (TEC) as witnesses as well as representatives of the regional Election Committee. Before submitting the lawsuit Sein’s team stated that they expected confirmation of violations in no less than 120 polling stations out of 202.

The court decided to summon witnesses, i.e. members of election committees, separately from the districts of the city and after interrogation view the respective video record the witness speaks about, RIA “Novosti” informs.

”First all our witnesses must be interrogated (there remain about 30 persons from Kirov district) and then the hostile ones (45 persons from Kirov district), Oleg Shein explained in his blog.

“Today 11 witnesses were heard. They pointed out episodes when filled ballot papers were not shown and the tables were set out of the coverage of the web-cameras. Besides, ballot papers were recounted in some polling stations”, “Interfax-Yug” quotes Oleg Shein.

Other witnesses are going to be interrogated at the session of May, 4. After that the judge will start viewing the video records from the polling stations, “Radio Svoboda” reports.
