A gunmen's hideout found in the building of a mosque in Chechnya

A hiding place with a batch of medications was found in a mosque in one of the settlements of Grozny district of Chechnya, law enforcement bodies of the republic reported.

"The day before a hideout was found under the floor of the mosque in the settlement of Kerla-Yurt, Grozny district. The hideout was accidentally found by a local teenager after which the personnel of local police department of the settlement of Pobedinskoye were called to the site", an officer of Chechen police said to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to him, there were medications and a knife in a plastic bag put under the flooring in the building of the mosque. This hideout was supposedly equipped by participants of a group from among local residents who dealt with robbery assaults for the purpose of getting money.

"They introduced themselves as participants of Dokku Umarov and other leaders' paramilitary groups. Two members of the group were killed two weeks ago and one more is established and being searched for", our interlocutor said.

An inspection on the fact is in process. A representative of law enforcement bodies explained that neither the imam of the mosque of the settlement of Kerla-Yurt not the congregation were aware of the gunmen's hideout in the building of the house of worship.
