Azerbaijan and Armenia accuse each other of shootings at contact line
At night on August 25, units of the Armenian Armed Forces opened fire to the positions of the Azerbaijani Army. This was announced by a representative of Azerbaijan. In his turn, a representative of Nagorno-Karabakh reported numerous shootings of the positions by the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.
According to the Azerbaijani side, the fire was opened from the positions, located near the villages of Yusifdjanly of the Agdam District, Goradiz of the Fizuli District, Tapgaragoyunlu of the Goranboi District, the village of Kuropatkino, and nameless heights of the Khodjavend District.
The shootings were suppressed by the returning fire, the "Trend" reports with reference to a representative of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence (MoD).
Armenia rejects accusations of violation of the ceasefire regime.
On August 19-25, the Azerbaijani side more than 300 times violated the ceasefire regime at the contact line. In total, the Azerbaijani side made about 1500 shots from firearms of different calibre in the direction of the Armenian positions.
The units of the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh largely refrained from retaliatory actions all around the contact line. This was reported by the "Armenia Today" with reference to the representative of the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh.
