Political party “Way of Georgia” abandoned participation in the parliamentary election
Political party “Way of Georgia” abandons participation in the election of the Georgian Parliament in favour of Bidzina Ivanishvili’s oppositional coalition “The Georgian Dream”. This was the party’s statement dated August, 27.
“Today when there is no national Government in the lead of Georgia and the struggle for maintenance of the country is going on “Way of Georgia” feels its responsibility before the country and its people, abandons participation in the election and is ready to direct all its resources to help “The Georgian Dream”, the statement runs.
“Way of Georgia” called for its adherents to support Bidzina Ivanishvili’s oppositional coalition “The Georgian Dream” at the election. Besides, it called for the rest of the oppositional parties to follow its example and abandon participation in the election.
Georgian political scientists observe that “The Georgian Dream” coalition makes a serious opposition to the ruling party “United National Movement” and its candidates are sure to get mandates of deputies.
