Restored hospital in Novomikhailovsky gives birth to two kids

On August 28, the village hospital resumed its work in the village of Novomikhailovsky affected by the flood. It was closed for reconstruction on August 22. This morning, it already gave birth to two newborns, said the public health department of the Tuapse District.

"So far, the hospital functions in the emergency mode," the press service of the administration of the Tuapse District told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

For emergency patients the hospital has launched the gynaecological and maternity wards, and a therapy, surgery, anaesthesiology and intensive care units, and the outpatient clinic, located on the second level. The children and infection wards are still closed; their patients will be treated so far at the Tuapse Hospital.

"So far, the hospital is working in a limited manner, only as the 'emergency room': at acute pain and in other emergency situations. For example, if a person has injured his or her hand. IN such cases they need no special equipment – just a scalpel, a needle holder and a needle," said Maxim Maximov, the head of the department of public health of the Tuapse District.

The equipment that was on the ground floor of the hospital – the x-ray, ultrasound machine and a defibrillator, – damaged by the flooding is still in the testing mode; besides, the issue of buying new equipment is considered.

On the first day of restart of the hospital, there were not so many patients; and in the morning the maternity ward gave birth to a boy and a girl. The on duty doctors are at work at the hospital.
