In Baku, collision of bus and train kills seven people

In the township of Lokbatan in Baku, a passenger bus ran against a train. According to preliminary data, the crash killed seven persons, said Kyamran Aliev, the head of the division of the Republic's Road Police. According to Anar Gedirli, the head of the press service of the Ministry of Public Health of Azerbaijan, 41 people were injured in the accident.

"The train that moved from Agstafa to Baku at the set speed collided with a DAEWOO bus at a guarded crossing. Currently, policemen are investigating the scene," the "APA" quotes Nadir Azmamedov, the head of the press service of CJSC "Azerbaijan Demir Yollari".

"In total, 41 persons were injured; of them, 32 victims were brought to the Clinical Medical Centre, eight of them – in serious condition. Nine people were hospitalized by the Scientific Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedics. Eight of them received first aid and were let home," said Anar Gedirli.

Kyamran Aliev has added that the accident killed seven people.

According to the Prosecutor's Office of the Garadag District of Baku, the driver of the bus that moved from the village of Lokbatan to Baku was seriously injured, but survived and is in hospital. All the casualties are men, the "Trend" reports.

According to preliminary information, the accident was caused by violation of traffic rules by the bus driver.
