Moscow hosts solo picket in support of Syrian Circassians
Today, Aslanbek Nachoev, an activist of the Circassian community of Moscow, held a solo picket in support of Circassian of Syria in front of the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of the Russian Federation.
Circassian activists of Moscow hold pickets, starting from November 8, when they began to receive information from their compatriots from Syria about bombardment of Circassian villages of Berek and Bir al-Azham. On November 8, a solo picket was held by Tamerlan Urusov, on November 9 by Ali Kunashev, and on November 10 by Beslan Teuvazhev.
Aslanbek Nachoev stood directly in front of the building of the MFA of the Russian Federation, with a poster reading: "Bring Our Circassians Home!"
"Today, I am here to support my people, who, unfortunately, appeared in a very tragic situation. Because of historical vicissitudes, not all my people live in the territory of the Russian Federation. Syria suffers heavy casualties. To my regret, my own country, Russia, does not make any strong efforts to ensure that Syrian Circassians can return home," Aslanbek Nachoev has stated.
A lot of people passed by; however, only people hardly paid attention to the picketer and to his demands. This was reported by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, who visited the places.
"I work near not far from here, a ten-minute walk from the MFA. And I decided to support Syrian Circassians by my action during my lunchtime. I believe that the problem exists, and it should be reported by all legal means by solo picket or mass rally. There is information field, and we should affect it somehow: you should better do what you can do than not to do at all," Aslanbek Nachoev said.
