Court imposes 20,000-rouble fine on participant of "March of Millions" in Rostov-on-Don

The court has fined Elena Belan, a participant of the "March of Millions", held in Rostov-on-Don, by 20,000 roubles.

On September 15, in Rostov-on-Don, the police detained four persons for an attempt to organize an unauthorized rally in the city centre. The detainees stated that they would insist on their innocence.

On September 17, Anatoly Zakurdaev, one of the detainees, was fined 20,000 roubles. On October 31, the same penalty was imposed on Boris Papayan, and on November 10 on Svetlana Sviderskaya.

Nikolai Kladovoy, a public defender of Elena Belan, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that the today's court hearing did not differ from the court hearings, held against the remaining three detainees.

"The judge listened to everything with great care and understanding, and, in the end, when pronouncing the judgment, she completely ignored all arguments and justifications," Nikolai Kladovoy has stated.

Elena Belan herself told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she intended to challenge the judge's decision together with the other fined persons.
