Ex-suspect on the case of murder in Kushevskaya submitted a claim of compensation

Evgeny Gurov, ex-defendant on the case of mass murder in the stanitsa of Kushevskaya, submitted a claim of compensation for moral damage inflicted on him to a total sum of one million rubles, Kushevsky district court reported.

On November, 5, 2010, 12 dead people, four children among them, were found in a house belonging to a farmer resident of Kushevskaya. Within the framework of investigation of the criminal case of murder law enforcement bodies detained several people, among them supposed organizer of the crime Sergey Tsapok.

Evgeny Gurov was one of the first detainees. Seven months later criminal proceedings against Gurov were eliminated for the reason of absence of element of crime in his actions. At the same time, on July, 13, the court sentenced Gurov to 12 years of custody for committing other crimes.

Evgeny Gurov submitted a lawsuit of compensation for moral damage against the Ministry of Finance of Russia, RIA “Novosti” reports.

He demands to recover 470 thousand rubles from the respondent at the expense of the Russian treasury for moral damage inflicted on him by unlawful keeping him in custody during seven months and 26 days. Besides, Gurov asks for compensation of moral damage connected with illegal criminal prosecution for over 11 months according to an especially grave clause of the Criminal Code of Russia to a sum of 530 thousand rubles, “Interfax” reports.
