Georgian miners on strike in Tkibuli

300 workers of the mine named after Dzidziguri in the town of Tkibuli, Western Georgia, went on a strike, United Trade Union of the country reported.

After the end of their shift the miners did not go up but stayed in the mine, at the depth of several hundred meters.

The workers oppose closure of the mine, “Caucasus-Press” reports.

According to the strikers, “Gruzougol” company is going to close the mine for the reason of its unprofitability and in this case the workers will have no means of support”, “Georgia online” informs.
