Ingush woman states that her son Bashir Mislaurov, accused of involvement in IAF, was tortured

On November 22, Madash Mislaurova, a resident of Nazran, appealed in the representative office of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" in Ingushetia with a complaint that her son Bashir Mislaurov, accused of involvement in IAF (illegal armed formation) actions, was tortured during the investigation.

On June 29, representatives of power agencies reported on detention of three militants in Nasyr-Kort District in Nazran. On July 2, the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC) explained that during the special operation, power agents detained Akhmedkhan Aushev, the leader of the "Nazran" grouping, his driver Bashir Mislaurov, and Zurab Didigov, who provided militants with communication devices.

In connection with the report that Bashir Mislaurov was tortured, the mother of the young man fears for his life. In her complaint, filed on November 22 to the HRC "Memorial", the woman asks for help in protecting the interests of the defendant.

Torturing of Bashir Mislaurov was reported on November 14, after lawyer Sh. Tepsaev met his client. According to the defendant, at night on October 31, staff members of unidentified power agency brought him out of the IVS (temporary detention facility) in North Ossetia, where he was brought in October, and tortured him with electric current, the statement of the HRC "Memorial" reports.

In connection with that, Bashir Mislaurov in the presence of the lawyer wrote a complaint to the Prosecutor's Office in North Ossetia, in which he indicated that his body was wrapped in polyethylene bag, wet with water and tortured with electric current. "Besides, they beat me in my head with their hands. They beat me without signs of beatings," the defendant wrote in his complaint.

According to Bashir Mislaurov, the torturers demanded that he should admit the charges against him, to confess and to waive the lawyer under agreement, and they also threatened repetition of torture and punishment of the family of the defendant.

Because of his weak heart, Bashir Mislaurov began to lose consciousness, and after he told the people in masks that he would fulfil their demands, he was brought back to the IVS.

The lawyer Sh. Tepsaev appealed to the Prosecutor's Office of North Ossetia to request an inspection at his client's complaint.
